Well, time for some more silliness it seems, this time it’s The Toxic Avenger 3, The Last Temptation of Toxie. Anyone who knows the films that Troma pump (excrete) out will know this one isn’t going to be anything to take too seriously. After watching the first two of these, I know what I’m in for and I’ve got no-one to blame other than myself.
Ok, so the story continues on from The Toxic Avenger and the Toxic Avenger 2 with our hero living happily with his blind girlfriend Claire. And yes, Toxie is still there to clean up crime in Tromaville. Infact Toxie has done such a good job of cleaning up the town that there’s now nothing for poor Toxie to do.
Anyway it turns out there’s a new procedure that can restore Claire’s sight. Only problem is it costs over $300,000 and of course Toxie doesn’t have that kind of money. As it happens a new bunch of bad guys come to town in the form of Apocalypse Incorporated. Apocalypse rail Toxie into working for them in order to gain the money to restore sight to Claire. The group plan to mine “Chromium” out of Tromavilled and want Toxie to be their PR dude. This means they can get cheap labour in the form of the local kids to mine the highly toxic substance. Can Toxie see the light remove himself from the grip of Apocalypse Incorporated? Well, that’s where you’ll have to watch the film for yourself to find out! Rest assured that finding out will be a comical and sickening ride!
Anyway, like I said in the first part of the this review if you’ve watched this far into the series you know what you’re going to get. It’s really just more of the same. Same Kitchy horror, humour and over the top but rather comical violence! Troma films films seem to have pumpled out a lot of stuff and a lot of it is basically unwatchable. But they did put a little effort into the this film and the humour and gore aren’t too bad. If you’re going to watch any Troma films the Toxic Avenger series is the place to start. If you don’t like this series you’re basically not going to like anything else they do.
