CITIZEN VIGILANTE

Citizen Vigilante is not a bad movie. It is a well made, well filmed movie with a competent script, good acting, good soundtrack. and comic-book like gore effects that are utterly hilarious if not also well done.

It is NOT a right wing movie, per se. The original title was “The Dark Knight”, which was to kind of show that the main character is as evil as the evil he is fighting against. He is, for all intents and purposes, Richard B Riddick meets Tony Stark meets Bruce Wayne but way more realistic of a personality: a wealthy “Dark Knight” who hasn’t the conscience of a Tony Stark or the compassion of Bruce Wayne. He has more in common with Riddick, in that he’d slit your throat or evict you for non-payment without even a second thought.

He is a sick, demented sociopath that is unleashed as a natural, inevitable response to the policies created by a government that has no interest in protecting its citizens. The people that these politicians allowed into their society, putting innocent, peaceful bystanders at risk, are evil and evil in such a way that they bypass the civil methods of societal law enforcement and the rule of law. They use the system to beat the system and then the system has no way to retaliating. So, this leads to one and only one course of action: something evil to fight something else that is evil.

Citizen Vigilante is the natural outcome of self-destructive government policies that erode the safety of a civilization. When the system of protection fails, then something else has to take over, and in this case, someone paradoxically filled with so much self-hate and so much concern for the weak and innocent. He’s not a hero; he’s a reaction, a result of the horror that has been unleashed on civil human beings. He is a serial killer sent to kill mass murderers. Freddy Vs Jason. Darth Vader Vs The Emperor. Trump Vs Everybody. (FYI I love Trump!) He’s the Oceanic White Tip shark hunting Great Whites, the predator hunting predators. He’s not a good guy. He’s just the enemy of my enemy, which makes him “friend.” For now…

Go watch the movie. It’s worth it. You will be conflicted the whole time, guiltily cheering for him as he disgusts you as much as you are disgusted with those that he whacks. At the end, you will say to yourself “You know, these people had it coming. We all warned everyone. And now the chickens have come home to roost.” Have they ever…and then some.

And the final dedication at the end of the film is a classy move.
