GUINEA PIG 2: A FLOWER OF FLESH AND BLOOD

This is on the more extreme end of Japanese horror. Guinea Pig 2: A Flower of Flesh and Blood is not for the faint hearted. Or those that need a plot in the horror they view. The premise of the 45 minute long odessy of gore is some serial killer tracks down a young japanese woman late at night and abducts her into his bunker where he enacts all manner of gruesome acts on the poor woman dismembering her and killing her in a bizzare ritual.

The movie is the second in a series of six films (the only one I’ve seen) this installment dating back to 1987. The film shot in a VHS found footage style video meant to emulate a snuff film is very convincing. Whoever was responsible for the gore in this did a very convincing job of making it look real. I wonder if I saw a real snuff film whether it would be as disturbing as this one. Legend has it actor Charlie Sheen saw it and was convinced it was real and alerted the authorities about it.

The film had some underground level distribution but never really achieved any real fan base as far as I could tell. There are some films I’ve watched (and reviewed here) with gore this full on but they have a valid story and some artistic or entertainment value. This in my opinion does not. It’s just a hedonistic excuse to venture into torture porn. But my opinions aside I support your right to watch it if you so choose. Somehow the movie is still present on Youtube so I’ve linked it, as I don’t think the chances of finding a physial copy of this is realisitic.

Anyway watch for yourself if you dare, and keep checking back Gorenography.com for more great horror film reviews and opinions.
