Once again sorry about the break in the reviews, I actually got some paid web work to do, so had to put that stuff first as a priority, but back into it now!
It’s been a while since I have seen any of the saw movies, so continuing the marathon with this, SAW 4. I’m not sure if I’ll be getting the most out of the film, since it’s been so long between innings for me. The film opens up in true saw fashion with the now deceased protagonist John Kramer awaiting a postmortem. The producers waste no opportunities for explicit gore, with the first few minutes already an attention grabbing eye opener. Kramers boy is dissected by mortuary staff, and it becomes apparent Kramer was the victim of a homicide, with the demented genius setting himself up for another ride, post his own mortality.
THE PLOT
A new movie, brings a whole new set of traps that unwitting victims who’ve taken their own lives for granted now have to escape. The producers of this series certainly haven’t run out of inventive ways to dispatch the victims of the revenge driven Kramer. Without spoiling the scenario’s for you guys, some of the torture seems well beyond the threshold of human pain endurance, making it seem a little unrealistic. Gore fiends, however will love it. The gore is top notch and excrutiatingly violent.
The police raid yet another one of Kramer’s underground torture vaults (It boggles the mind how he manages to find so many of these to rent / buy) with more tortured bodies awaiting them. But who is doing the killing now that Kramer lies dead in a mortuary? Well that my friends is what you’ll have to find out by watching the movie!
Overall Saw 4 is pretty cool experience for those who are familiar with the series. The plot and torture sequences can get a little unrealistic but other than that it’s a pretty cool ride into the twisted mind of John Kramer. Over all I thought it was pretty cool and definitely worth your time to check out.
