The Changeling is a really cool film. Not much in the way of gore or violence here, but it does have a way of keeping the viewers interest the whole way through the film. I’d class this as a psychological / supernatural horror film.
The movie itself revolves around composer and musical lecturer John Russell. After loosing his family in a car accident John relocates to Seattle lecturing at a university. He rents a house and starts to settle in to his new life. Unbeknownst to him, the house is haunted. John experiences some strange things and does a little digging into the house’s history and discovers he wasn’t the first to experience strange goings on there.
I won’t divulge the whole plot. This is definitely one of those films where you’d want to see it unravel as the film intended. The film is rather well done from a plot and directional point of view and all the actors do a great job. The Changeling is however one of those films you’ll need to be in the right frame of mind to concentrate on. Tt’s not just a mindless gore fest. Its not an instantly rewarding film either. You’ll be rewarded with a genuinely creepy and captivating story upon watching this film!
